All decisions of the Bass Tag Roundup committee are final and not subject to appeal.
Participants must comply with State, Federal, Coast Guard, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife rules and regulations.
All fish submitted for prize consideration must have been caught by a registered participant who has paid all fees associated with the Bass Tag Roundup tournament prior to catching the eligible fish.
All fish to be submitted for prize consideration must have been caught and landed by a registered participant on a conventional rod, hook and line exclusively. In the case of trolling, drifting or still fishing, a rod secured in a rod holder may hook a fish; however, the angler who initially receives the rod from the holder must land the fish without assistance from any other person. Acceptable assistance is limited solely to, netting the fish caught by the participating angler. Disabling or in any way subduing a fish before it is landed is prohibited. A tagged fish must be documented with a photograph clearly showing the fish with the tag as well as the angler who landed the fish. Tag must be submitted to the Bass Tag Roundup Committee for review. No transfer of fish among tournament participants will be allowed.
Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or adult with written parental permission. If a participant under the age of 18 wins a prize, his or her legal representative will receive the prize on their behalf.
The entire responsibility for valid tournament entry and correctness of any official entry form rests solely on the entrant. All decisions of the Bass Tag Round up committee are final.
Professional fisherman, and fishing guides are allowed to participate in the Bass Tag Roundup tournament.
All persons, including minors, entering a prize-winning fish or claiming a prize, must agree to submit to a polygraph examination. Additionally, each person entering the Bass Tag Roundup tournament agrees to submit to a polygraph examination. The Bass Tag Roundup Tournament committee reserves the right to select polygraphists to administer polygraph examinations. All polygraph examinations shall be taken at the time, place and by the polygraphists designated by the Bas Tag Roundup tournament committee. Each contestant agrees by his/her signature on the official Bass Tag Roundup tournament entry form, or by clicking the “accept the rules” box for online entrants to submit to a polygraph examination and abide by its conclusion. All travel expenses are to be paid by entrant. Failure to submit to or pass the required polygraph examination shall result in disqualification from this year and any future Bass Tag Roundup tournaments.
Personnel participating in tagging operations for the current year are ineligible for Bass Tag Roundup prizes. (if you have any questions about your eligibility please contact the tournament director prior to fishing.)
Tournament will begin at 12:01 am on January 1st 2018 and end at 11:59pm on April 30th 2018.
Permitted Fishing Areas
Only fish taken from Lake Conroe shall be eligible for submission into the Bass Tag Roundup tournament.
Prize winners are solely responsible for payment of any applicable taxes, fees and costs associated with said prize. There are over $50,000 in possible prizes all of which may not be paid out or received by participants/entrants. Prizes awarded/paid out will depend on the compliance with all rules and regulations of the Bass Tag Roundup tournament. All prizes awarded or paid out will depend on the total number of entries into the Bass Tag Roundup tournament.
Hold Harmless and indemnity:
IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING ALLOWED TO ENTER THE BASS TAG ROUNDUP TOURNAMENT, EACH PERSON AGREES AND CONTRACTS TO RELEASE, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE BASS TAG ROUNDUP TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE, HOOK ON UNLIMITED, AND THE SAN JACINTO RIVER AUTHORITY, THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR AND ALL COMMITTEE PERSONS, THE TOURNAMENT SPONSORS AND WEIGH-IN STATION OWNERS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER CONNECTED WITH THE TOURNAMENT INCLUDING ITS PLANNING, OPERATION OR CONDUCT AND INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURY, WRONGFUL DEATH, SURVIVAL DAMAGES, ECONOMIC LOSS, PROPERTY DAMAGES OR CLAIMS RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE AWARDING OF PRIZES IN THE TOURNAMENT. IT IS THE EXPRESS INTENTION OF THIS AGREEMENT THAT EACH ENTRANT IS INDEMNIFYING EACH OF THE FOREGOING RELEASED AND INDEMNIFIED PARTIES FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR OWN NEGLIGENT CONDUCT, WHETHER SOLE NEGLIGENCE OR CONTRIBUTING NEGLIGENCE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OUTRAGEOUS MISCONDUCT, STRICT LIABILITY, COMMISSION OF TORT, BREACH OF CONTRACT, AND BREACH OF WARRANTY. THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN OF ANY MINOR ENTERING IN, REGISTERING FOR OR FISHING IN THE TOURNAMENT DOES FURTHER CONTRACT AND AGREE THAT THIS RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT SHALL BE BINDING UPON ANY MINOR ENTERING THE TOURNAMENT. WINNER WILL BE REQUIRED TO EXECUTE AN ADDITIONAL RELEASE, INDEMNITY AND HOLD HARMLESS UPON RECEIPT OF PRIZE.
ANY CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE TOURNAMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY BINDING ARBITRATION CONDUCTED IN CONROE TX BY A LICENSED ARBITRATOR, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATON AND JUDGMENT UPON THE AWARD RENDERED MAY BE ENTERED IN ANY COURT HAVING JURISDICTION THEREOF.
SHOULD LITIGATION OR ARBITRATION RESULT BETWEEN A PARTICIPANT AND HOOK ON UNLIMITED, IT IS AGREED THAT THE PREVAILING PARTY IN SUCH LITIGATION OR ARBITRATION SHALL BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER REASONABLE ATTORNEY FEES AND COSTS.
